What the guided estimate means
For Pictory monthly script/URL plans, required video minutes = new projects × finished minutes per project. The check compares that number with the selected plan’s video-minute allowance and verifies its project-length limit. It assumes the full allowance is unused; any prior usage must be accounted for separately. It does not convert video minutes into AI credits or voice minutes.
The published video-minute rule charges the initial download of a project. Re-downloading that project does not consume the quota again. This model assumes the entered length equals the actual billed duration; separate projects, trimming, account-specific rounding and other workflows may change your usage.
Prices are withheld where sources disagree. An optional quote remains labeled as user-entered. For an annual quote, monthly equivalent = annual payment ÷ 12; this is an allocation, not monthly billing. The pricing FAQ states that annual video minutes are granted upfront. This monthly-target model does not track annual usage, so annual capacity and unit costs are not estimated.
Extras, taxes, seats, premium voices, model generation, storage, labor and add-ons are not included. A video-minute check cannot establish that every other part of your project is covered.

Behind the estimate
The math, without the mystery.
- Base clips
videos × ceil(minutes per video × 60 ÷ seconds per generation)Round up each video separately. A final partial clip still requires a generation.
- Generation attempts
ceil(base clips × average attempts)The multiplier includes the first attempt. Expected retries are rounded up once across the batch.
- Credits required & shortfall
attempts × credits per generationshortfall = max(0, required − included) - Allocated subscription costs
monthly subscription ÷ planned videosmonthly subscription ÷ total finished minutesThese divide a fixed bill by your target output. They are not extra charges or confirmed achievable costs. With no finished output, unit costs are undefined.
What this estimate leaves out
The subscription is a fixed monthly charge. Extra usage fees are unknown: no top-up price or purchase availability is assumed. Taxes, annual upfront payments, team seats, labor, editing subscriptions, rollover credits, refunds and unused failed generations are not modeled.
All attempts are assumed to consume the same credit amount and yield the entered usable clip length. Choose your model and settings first; verify failure charges and billing rules with the vendor. If a credit gap appears, your planned output is not covered by the entered allowance.
Zero videos or zero duration produces no finished output and no allocated unit cost; any subscription fee still remains. Amounts are displayed in USD, with tiny nonzero costs shown to significant digits.
